Joel K. Rubinstein
Prior to founding Leasing Law in 2011, Jennifer Matkin was a partner at SSL Law Firm LLP in San Francisco, California, practicing exclusively in the area of commercial leasing on behalf of both landlords and tenants for almost 10 years.
Ms. Matkin previously focused on real estate, land use and environmental law, including extensive office and retail leasing matters for a major financial institution, for ten years at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe LLP, and practiced for one year at LeBouef Lamb Greene & MacRae LLP.
Ms. Matkin received her J.D. magna cum laude from Hastings College of the Law in 1988 and earned a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1985. Ms. Matkin is a member of the State Bar of California.
Christine Savage has over 20 years of experience as an attorney and brings a litigator’s perspective to Leasing Law. Before joining Leasing Law in 2014, Ms. Savage practiced at Kawashima Lorusso LLP in Honolulu, Hawaii, working on a variety of litigation matters, including general real estate, insurance coverage and contract disputes.
Previously Ms. Savage worked as a Deputy Attorney General in the Hawaii Attorney General’s Office in Honolulu, Hawaii, and as a Deputy District Attorney in Contra Costa County, California.
Ms. Savage received her J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law in 1994 and her Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Millsaps College in 1988. Ms. Savage is a member of the State Bars of California and Hawaii.
Joel K. Rubinstein has more than 25 years of experience in all aspects of real estate transactions, including commercial leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, financing, construction and entity formation, on behalf of landlords, ground lessors, tenants, subtenants, buyers, sellers, lenders, operating companies, manufacturers, financial institutions and REITs, as well as other general business matters.
Prior to Leasing Law, Mr. Rubinstein was an attorney with Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe LLP, Otis, Canli and Duckworth and SSL Law Firm LLP, and he also has maintained his own practice since 2000.
Mr. Rubinstein earned his B.A. in Economics from Yale University in 1985 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1989. Mr. Rubinstein is a member of the State Bar of California.
